I finally got my EZ. I installed it last Friday, and had the chance to tow a friend's new 5er (a 35' 12k empty Challenger). It did very well. I love it. 1900 RPMs @ 70 in OD with a 15-20 mph headwind, and never had to find fifth while cruising. Lots of power for passing, too. I also averaged 20+ mpg on the way to pick it up, but that was with the same wind at my back. I love the power and the little puffs of smoke!!
I also just finished installing my CB (finally!). I mounted it where the pouch is in the dash... the one that serves as the cup-holder on the autos. I cut two 12" brackets out of 1/8 x 1" steel, and shaped them to fit. I thought it would have been much harder than it was. It fits like it was meant to be there. I thought about mounting it in front of the seat, but it would be just a little hard to see it.
I ran the coax under the shift console. For those of you who don't know what's under that console, there is another shift boot. It is what actually covers the shift tree on the transmission. I cut a small slit in it and put the cable through it, and then ran it up underneath the cab and into the engine compartment. I have two "Firestik II's" mounted on the fenders. It works okay for me. In the future I plan on buying or building a headache rack with accomodations for a wing, and will then mount the antennae on it.
Now for my next trick... I need a digital camera to put pics on here for y'all!
