I want to mount a whip in the back bed on my tool box and want to run my coax out of the cab without drilling a hole if at all possible? Is there any way or place to do this? If not, where is the best place to drill? all suggestions greatly appreciated,

thanks

Nightcrawler, I ran mine through the firewall grommet down the frame and up to my toolbox mount. I have the Brolin mount and put the coax under the shifter cover to the firewall. My SWR is low and it works fine. Of course, I soldered the connector on after it was through the firewall. Like you I just didn't want to drill.

There are several approx. 1"x2" rounded openings in the floor of the cab that can be seen from underneath, they are covered and held in place with tabs. Seems like you could go thru one of those.

I ran my coax through the fire wall on the drivers side just above the steering column. No problems so far. I have a similiar setup to Alan. I have an export radio on a Michael Brolin mount, no real problems with the installation or setup, except the wife cannot sit next to me.

While working on my transfer case, it looked as though you may be able to route the cable through the hole in the floor (if you have a 4WD) and into the back of the radio.

Contact me off line, I am in GA also as is Alan.
