When I key my CB the Pyrometer reads zero and I get lot's of interference.

It isn' how it's wired; the CB has an independent ground and is wired thru a painless wiring fuse panel. I've also plugged it into the cig lighter for a completely different wiring scheme and it does the exact same thing.

?????

I've had problems with significant amounts of EMF from Optix gauges before...

Any ideas?

Not sure if it'll fix you problem but I had interference (the whining sound) from the alternator on my truck. My power wire is connected direct to the battery and it has a dedicated ground. I ended up installing a filter that eliminated the noise. Cost me about 10 bucks at GI Joes and wired into the hot wire but also had a ground wire on it. I'll see if I can find a link to one.

I know what you mean. I had a CB in my old Ford diesel and when I would key the mike it would make the tach jump up 200 rpms. The CB always worked good but could never figure out why it was doing this, because I had it wired directly to a hot power source as not to interfere with anything and a good ground.

Since pyro gauges work on microvolt signals I'm gonna guess it is RF interference. Shield your thermcouple lead.
