CB Question

Anybody using a Uniden Pro 538W CB? I have some trouble fine tuning the RF Gain and squelch to find a happy median. They both seem rather touchy. I have put an SWR on the radio and my readings were (by channel): 1=1. 3, 10=1. 1, 20=1. 1, 30=1. 1, 40=1. 3. Anyone else out there get an inverted reading like this? I checked all my grounds and continuities and all are correct. BTW, the antenna is a 5 foot Firestik mounted behind the cab on the drivers side. I know it is not ideal and even if that was the only way to mount the antenna, it should be on the passenger side.

Your swr readings look correct to me. I always set the anrtenni length so the reading is lowest in the middle of the wave length, (channel 19 or 20) then the antenni will be a little short on 40 and a little long on 1. bg
