Hey guys, I've got a 2001 5-speed so I bought the Brolin CB mount from Geno's to mount in front of the center seat. To keep everything clean, I wanted to bring the coax under the driver's seat and run it straight to the radio with little or no wire showing. I'm mounting the antenna on the front of the bed in the center.

Does anyone know where I can drill through to poke the coax through under my seat? Any tips on making it weatherproof?

Also, anybody found any good places to drill through the firewall to wire accessories straight to the battery? I've got some other stuff that I'm gonna have to go through the firewall to wire in too.

HH,

Go to the Second Gen. (No E. or T. ) forums. Find the thread "How can I access the cab from behind?" by Royk.

I would post the direct thread but I always muck it up some way. :{

Hope this is what you are looking for!

This really isn't what I was looking for. I want to run the coax through floor under my seat - not through the firewall because I don't want any wires to show. I can't run them under the sill plate because I have a set of custom sill plates that are permanently secured over the originals - they can't be removed.

Does anybody else have any other ideas? Just need to know where I can drill through the floor under my seat safely.

Thanks.

First, the power. You don't have to drill to get the power lead to the battery. Just push an ice pick through the silicon rubber seal where the stock wiring goes now. I have power leads for four devices through that seal, plus signal leads, so there is plenty of room. Takes patience, though.

You will find that there is a rubber plug or actually a few in the floor under the rear seat. Just drill a hole in one, run the coax through it, and seal the hole with silicon sealer.

I just drilled a hole in the floor under the center seat section. Put in a gromment and also used silicone caulk well permatex actually on the underside around the gromment and cable. Been well over 3 years and still going strong.
