Cb Radio Installation

Just bought a Galaxy 959 CB radio , tried doing a search on installation pics for our 3 rd gen trucks with no luck. If ya have any pictures of your cb mount locations please share .

I have the same truck as you and this is where I installed mine.

Im using a Wilson Mag Mount Lil Wil antenna.

How do you like the Galaxy? I have had my Galaxy Pluto for 15yrs, not a single problem.



"Big Bob" on this site makes a real nice mount for our trucks, maybe he will chime in here, or just do a search under his moniker. Jess

Radio's still in the box , I bought it last night .

I always had Cobra's , last one i had was old 148 GTL with the mike plug on the side. I mostly use AM but dont mind payin a little extra for Side Band.

I found some post from Big Bob , nice mounts , havent made my mind up as to how to mount it due my six speed transmission . Being lookin thru the here .



I'm gonna get the radio "tuned", add a sweet 16 with a antenna that'll match ... then I'll be a B. T. O. ( BIG TIME OPERATOR ) . LOL

I mounted my General Lee on the knee bolster like donnier, mounted my linear under the driver seat. Both running heavy gage wire directly to the driver side battery. My W1000 roof mount is located right behind the interior light with the coax running down the driver side B pillar and under the driver side seat to the linear. The only wires you can actually "see" are the jumper and power leads to the linear where they come out from under the seat and under the the console ... ... ... . about a 2" section right there from the seat rail to the edge of the console.

Not sure if I have the same dash as you. I would've bought Big Bob's mount if it had been available at the time. Used some stuff I found at Home Depot. 06' SLT.

Here's mine. It's not the best location, but it's out of the way. I know the knobs so I don't need to see it. You can see the wire loom in the rear of the first photo. All wires are above the headliner.

It's held to the crossmember via 2 self tapping screws. It's been there for about 160K and hasn't come loose yet.
