Has anybody come up with a great place to mount the radio? I'd like to see some pictures - for example how can you mount to the ceiling, off front seat etc.

I had a self-made Brolin type mount, it worked great. After my wife got me a Geno's cup smoothie, I replaced the dash cupholder on my auto with a dash pocket, like the 5 speeds have, and mounted my CB to it. I then mounted the mic holder to the cup smoothie. Works real good.

Re: CB mount

RJ, that sounds like something I'd be interested in. If you could post some pics or give me the p/n#. I'd appriciate it. TIA

Brolin Mount

Dezeldog,

I might have a brolin mount to sell you. I am getting the center console that rob thomas makes and I might be able to mount the CB to it directly. If so then I can sell it to you. they go for $30 from Mike rolin (I think... ) but I will E-mail or PM you if I need to sell it.

Eric

Here is the pic installed. It uses the front 2 mount bolts for the center seat.

Re: CB mount

Thanx Eric, Ijust came back from the stealer. I orderd the panel that the manuals have in lieu of the cup holder on the autos. If it looks OK I'm going to mount the CB to it. I'll let you know how it works out.

Anybody have one

I have been unable to reach MBrolin via PM or e- mail. Does any one out there have a Brolin mount to sell? Want it before mid July. TIA, Jim G.

The guy I bought my truck from mounted the CB to the back of the cab, between the seats. It's ok as long as you don't change channels often and the center seat is not used often.

Just installed Brolin Mount 2 week ago, he said he was going on vacation till July Mount works great and cb right at finger tips

also easy install

I just mounted my CB. It cost me less than $5. I found a pair of shelf mounts (4"X6") at Menard's that have black vinyl covers that give them a well finished appearance. I mounted them oon the transmission hump just ahead of the center seat, attached the CB bracket to them and it turned out to be a very neat installation. There's plenty of room for the wires, etc. (I worked them under the carpet so they are not a rats nest).

I like CBs with all the bells and whistles which means they are big! Years ago I couldn't find any place to mount a big radio in my Dodge and came up with this. I have one of the dashmats and thought I would try something. Went to Wal-Mart and bought some of the velcro strips that stick on one side. Use the tape with the hooks. Ran these around the bottom side of the radio and set it on top of the dash under the mirrow. It has been there for years and I wouldn't have it anyplace else. Can also use the mirrow for a good place to hang the mic. Great thing about it is it is always easy to look at and make any changes to the knobs. Was very surprised when I tried to climb a big hill while four wheeling and the truck got to bouncing bad and the radio just stayed there where it belonged.

Jim,

Sorry about the delay, I was out of town over the weekend. I gather from your post, you're no longer in need of the part number. You have to pull the dash bezel to get to the screws on top, and I believe there are 2 screws on the bottom also. The cupholder then just pops out, and the dash pocket goes in it's place. About a 5 minute job. I then mounted my mic holder to the Geno's cup smoothie. Works great. If you want, I'll still try to get a picture, or part number. Let me know.

I sent a PM to Mr. Brolin a while back with no response. Anybody know how to contact him to see if he has one available?

Re: CB mount

Randy I stoped by the stealer and ordered the dash pocket. The parts guy was too sure about it. He said 13. 00 Ifigured I coulldn't go wrong for that. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanx again
