So today my overhead console began displaying "CCd". Does anybody know what that means? It seems to be running fine and everything seems to work. It occasionally displays the compass but will go back to CCd within a minute or two. While CCd was displayed it would start off dim then get brighter and stay that way for 30 seconds or so then get dim again for 30 seconds or so, then bright again, etc...

Thanks

Mark

The CCd stand for "Chrysler Collision Detection" data bus. Do a self diagnosis on the console. With switch off , hold down the Step button and the US/Metric button at the same time, turn on switch whisl holding buttons down, the mini trip computer will enter self diagnosis mode. After test the one of three messages will be displayed. Pass, Fail or CCd. Pass, unit is ok. Fail, unit is bad and must be replaced. CCd, a DRB scan tool is required for further diagnosius. Kinda heavy huh. This is from 99 FSM. bg

I had the same problem about a year ago. Very frustrating. I tried doing what BGSMITH said and tried everything else short of bashing it out with a hammer. I cant tell you why, but it just stopped one day. Has been working fine ever since... ... .

my 99 does teh same thing, very intermittently. usually when its very hot out and the truck has been sitting in the sun. after a while of driving, it goes away.

I've had this irritating problem where my compass direction sits on N-NW with the cal indication on. I tried the driving around in circles fix but it didnt work. Also a buddy of mine has a 99 3500 dually and he came up with the same problem just recently. He tried the driving in circles reset but that too didnt work. Might the suggestion that B. G. Smith help out with this problem too.
