My truck has been at the dealership for the passed two days for three recalls. No big deal. While they had it, I asked them about installing the "Sales Code" for my factory CD player into the Uconnect 5.0 that I installed from a 2015.

When I picked the truck up this evening, no problems with the recalls but they said they attempted three times to install the sales code for my newer radio and it would not take it. The sales manager said my radio was never meant to have a cd player. Well, I thought no big deal. We listen to Spotify and XM Radio anyway.

After getting home, I was looking over the Work Order and they listed trying to install sales code "RAZ" and the radio would not accept it.

After searching and reading, it looks like the RAZ sales code was for a older radio. I think the radio needs sales code RH1 for the CD player.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I'm confused. Was the CD player in the truck from the factory and you added the 5.0 from another year to replace the 5.0 that was in it? What audio sales codes were in the truck before you started? What sales codes were in the donor truck?
To clarify, the sales code is stored in the TIPM so everything works like it should on the truck. It isn't put in the radio itself.

Sorry, My truck came with the 3.0 with CD player in the lower console but the USB and AUX ports would not work. The problem was in the radio, not the console hub. Anyway, I found a Uconnect 5.0 and the install was no problem. Got the Security code from the local dealership and switched my SXM radio ID to the new radio and everything works, except the CD player. Dealership shows the RH1 is stored in the BCM but the 5.0 does not recognize it.

Should the RH1 sales code already in the BCM not activate the CD player? Or, did some of the 2015 Uconnect 5.0 radios not support a CD player?
