Pulled into the yard today, in the middle of a blizzard, no CEL all fine. Came out an hour later to head back and got a CEL with 2 codes 0128 and 0513. Called the dealer and he is looking for the info...

Any Ideas? Dealers says that I can drive it if the light ISN'T flashing...

3,290 miles to the first CEL... is this a sign of things to come????#@$%!

The P0128 is the old thermostat rationality that has been seen from time to time in the 3rd gen engines for a few years. It has been corrected over the years with flashes, and the 6. 7 should be corrected with the AW flash that has been pulled back for a short time, but should be available again soon. It most often comes up after being plugged in, but can also come on in cold weather when doing a short trip.

The P0513 is invalid skim key, and should not have turned on the CEL. It most likely was set earlier and was a stored code. The technician can look at the freeze frame data to determine if it happened at the same time, or at an earlier time.

Thermostat/SKIM Key... Sounds innocuous

I think I'll pick up the Infinity unit from Edge. Thats should handle these codes until the flash is out...

As Always Thanks!!!!

I had the p0128 on my 06 and 05 from time to time. Each time the temp was in the middle 30's... it set the light each time. I cleared it with the smarty each time... never made a difference in truck performance.

Edge Infinity

Looks like I am going to pick up the Infinity to clear the codes and stay away from dealers for this work...

Why was the 'AW' flash pulled back? I just had mine done on 1/4 and so far just one CEL that the odometer wouldn't display the code for... . just said 'Done'.

Not sure, but it must have had some kind of glitch with something. I don't think anyone here has reported any other problems after the AW flash, so who knows. Word from STAR is the flash will be out again very soon.

ECM Flash

Well I approached my local dealer carefully and asked it they would do a flash of my Texas Truck! Had to pay about $65 but I seem to get a little better mileage on the highway and haven't had a 0128 in a week...
