Ok, the cel comes on again ,P2A00 ox sensor . took it to the dealer and got a reflash that was to take care of it. Lasted one day ,took it back and they changed out both o2 sensors and did some kind of rap on the tail pipe. lasted almost till I got it home. back for the third time. Now they are saying they called something called star at dodge that is the hot line for bad things. left it there for two days and they still do not know what to do to get the light to stay off. anybody else had trouble with this o2 thing and did you get any answers?

Has the muffler been removed or replaced as part of the exhaust modification? If so, you may have a problem because of altered exhaust flow.

Has the dealer noticed your "Superchip"? You could be facing a large disappointment.

I pulaced it back to stock and they reflashed it. dealer had three mechs working on it and I was looking over their shoulder when they were using the scan tool. they found nothing. yes the muffler is off and I asked about that since they told me it would be alright to remove. senior mech said it had nothing to do with the problem. they now think it is a ghost light because they cannot find anything wrong, reflash should have taken care of it.

I don't KNOW if removing the muffler would cause a problem but if removal of the muffler removes even a very small amount of restriction and increases exhaust flow it may have an effect on the sensitive sensors that are installed in the exhaust system and monitored by the ecm. It may also reduce the effectiveness of the regen system in the dpf if exhaust is passing through quicker and exiting sooner.

Think about why your dealer techs installed exhaust wrap as part of some tech bulletin from Dodge. They are trying to increase heat retention in the exhaust, apparently to achieve greater soot burning.

I'm talking theory here. I don't KNOW if those changes matter but I suspect Dodge engineers know.

I have been told by more than one knowledgeble dealership Cummins tech that they can quickly and easily detect any add-on power enhancing device. You may be dealing with dumb or lazy techs who don't know how to read the engine parameters displayed by sophisticated shop electronics or they may be your buddies and are keeping silent, but reflashing the ECM is not going to conceal the addition of an aftermaket device.

If I were in your position I would be very worried about the ultimate outcome of this story.

Tinkering with the extremely complex engine management systems of an ISB6. 7 is very risky to someone who wants to obtain warranty work at Dodge's expense. Magic black boxes are great for those who are familiar with the phrase, "I am my own warranty station. "
