The Cummins engine and emissions system has a warranty of 100,000 miles.
When does your warranty expire? They've replaced my turbo twice in the last month over a CEL. I bought an extended warranty that runs to 100,000.
Ken
how is that possible??? twice in a month? was probably in the shop 6 days?
alot of $ too.
warranties:
3yr 36,0000 miles falls under chrysler's dime - engine & emissions
5yr 50,0000 miles falls under cummin's dime - engine & emissions
after that not sure the milage think it's 80k but only emissions
so at 44k getting a new turbo is a good thing as far as warranty is concerned
When did Cummins start paying claims on Rams ?
The warranty is covered by Cummins and administered by Chrysler, Cummins pays Chrysler back for Warranty repairs Unless the warranty claim is considered invalid by Cummins.

Mike:
anything we can do to avoid these turbo failures?
holset website says most common failures result from air or oil problems
I change the oil often, use the best oil filter, my air filter is clean, have replaced the ccv filter well before it's time... but still worry
Not correct. Dodge buys the engines outright from Cummins and there is no associated warranty, its all thru Dodge.
No Sir, You are mistaken.
