Anyone know why I get a loud, rapid clicking sound from my speakers when my cell phone is being used with the truck running? The clicking stops when the radio is turned off. I have an aftermarket stereo, amp and speakers. I have checked all of the connections and they seem fine. Also, I use a nextel phone. The interference is especially bad when using the direct connect feature. Thanks.

by the way, I am not admitting in any way shape or form that I engage in or endorse having phone conversations while driving. I am wayyyyy too busy watching my gauges!!:D

I get the same thing with my Nextel phone. Only really notice with the 2-way. Doesn't matter if in my pickup, semi, or in the shop with a small cheap radio. The interference is still there.

We used to use Motorola SP-50 handheld FM 2-ways and one mobile in the one semi. They did it also.

All the radiation coming off your cell phone that fries your brain also messes with your radio :D I have the nextel as well, motorola I90C. I have to turn mine off. My nokia/at&t phone never did that!

When I travel, I keep my cell phone on the bedside table at the motel. I can tell when it is about to ring because the table radio makes sounds like a geiger counter first. I have walked past cars with alarms before and had the tail lights begin flashing randomly.

Thanks fellas... ... I was beginning to think it was just my imagination. ;) I would be embarrassed to admit how long it took me to figure out I only heard the noise when I was yackin like a little girl on the phone..... Now I can start concentratin on all those other little noises.
