Center Console Top Bulge

I noticed today that there is a bulge in my center console top where the spring rest in the back of the hinge. Has anyone else have this? The top is flat except right in the center of the back edge about an inch or less from the back edge. It looks like the spring is going to come through. I can push it down, but it come back up about 1/2 inch. I don't remember if it came that way new or it just happend. At first I though I had slammed the top on something. But there was nothing there. It looks like the plasic the spring is resting on may be breaking?





Is it dealer time?

Yup... noticed it on my '99 a couple of weeks ago when I was cleaning it. Guess I'll just wait and see if the spring breaks and causes the lid to go airborne!

Mine to. Wasn't on the orignal one or my 99. It came on my new trucks replacement one because of the org. ones hinge blew apart. I thought about takeing it back to be done again and changed my mind.
