Over the weekend the drivers side of my console came loose does anyone know of a way to fix this ?

I thought it just popped back into place but I guess I am wrong the metal bracket looks like it might of had two bolts in it from the inside of the unit .

Can't wait to hear how to fix this , you all have some very good info for those of use who are just getting into this CTD action!

as my luck would have it the lid is not the problem,it is the metal bracket that is on either side . I guess you could say it is the part that moves up or down when it is raised or lowered. This pice is normally covered up by the padding on the side of the thing.

yes that would better describe what I am trying to put into words. Now that I know what to call it ,what is the fix for it?

I cannot remember what it looked like when I had mine out to do the Stealth sub. I believe the "Arms" unbolted from the floor frame. and each was seperate. You *Could* allways unbolt it and see if you could have it welded. There is allways the chance that there may be one on EbaY.

IN FACT what color interior di ya have?

Grey

Tan

I had mine apart recently to replace the armrest base assembly. I'm not sure how the pivots attach, but the bottom of each bracket bolts to the side of the buddy seat bottom with two bolts. You have to take the whole buddy seat out, unclip the upholstry so you can pull it up to get to the bolts.

Maybe this will help you get to the problem?

thanks I will give that a try if i have time this weekend. if not they you know who can look at it as the truck is going in monday for a injector pump . I figure there has got to be just some screws that backed out . how hard was it to get the cover off and back on?

Getting the seat out is no big deal, four bolts from underneath. With the whole thing out sitting on the tailgate, it's more clear how to get everything apart. The seat bottom cover was easy, four overgrown plastic clips, attached to the cover by elastic, clip to the seat frame at the front, back and both sides. Once those are loose, the cover kinda peels off like a sock. Getting it back on was just as straightforward with a little tucking to get everything back smooth. Good luck.

I have one (center seat) in my garage you can have for the shipping. It's a grey velvet-like material-- Just needs a little cleaning.

(ocasionally gets locked in the upright position)

I wanted to say thanks for the info on this topic ,I got the pice replaced and it took a whole whopping 30 minutes to do it . It went quickly due to the good info I recived. Next is the gauges anyone close by?:)
