I was wondering what yall thought of centerforce. I saw a centerforce clutch on the TST web site for $650. Says it's good up to 1000 ft lbs. I'm low on money and need a cluch that is a little better than stock. Thanks

Eric

Mine slipped @ the first pull I went to & I prolly had less power @ that time then you.

I had to get a Southbend.

I suppose if you don't pull it might hold.

I used a Centerforce dual disc before knowing about the TDR. It was terrible. Only lasted 50k and literally came out in 100+ pcs. I was running 342hp at the time and using my truck to hotshot. I really like the SBC products and service. JM . 02

I have used a centerforce before. The one i had was a dual friction. They work pretty good at first, but if you are hard on them they will not last. Mine only lasted till about 6 months and then it started slipping really bad. If you can, try and get a southbend clutch. If you call peter over there, he will be able to set you up really nice.

A buddy of mine installed a Centerjunk Dual Friction about the same time he installed a #10 plate and Marine 300 injectors into his 94 (160pump) 2500. The clutch didn't last a month before it started slipping.

It was rated @ 800ft/lbs TQ and he was within the specs and Centerjunk said "TOUGH!" #@$%! ... ... . spend the extra money and get a South Bend and be done with it the first time!

I ran centerforce in a race car for 2 passes they are junk not worth the the box they are shipped in, I droped them and went with SPEC and they also offer a full line of diesel clutchs now too if you have any questions about them feel free to send me a pm be more than willing to help you out

I have replaced nearly all clutches with stock units in the few trucks I have even had problems with. I pull a 15,000 lb trailer weekly and have yet to loose one. I have also done numberous cummins repowers in GM and Ford platforms, all using stock setups.

Centerforce has only embarassed me once with a customer, never again. Total life was 3 months!!!! pathetic product, even worse customer service.

For my own trucks, I don't run super high HP ratings, but I use all I have on every pull up the rocky mountains. My current dodge had over 200,000 miles on the original clutch before I pulled it, which was still working fine, but I had the transmission rebuilt so it came out as preventative maintenance. I am all about saving money, but the labor involved in a clutch job for trucks is not worth going cheap on parts, especially 4WD's.

On a side note, try having the flywheel machined to accept a pilot bearing in place of the bushing, well worth the extra change, no more chirp from the bushing.
