Is anyone running Centerline 8 Ball wheels on their 3rd gen. I'm trying to figure out wheel size and backspacing issues for no rub with a 6" lift and 37" Toyo MTs. I would like to run 17x9 wheels. Pictures would be nice. Can anyone help?
That's the same as stock backspacing. I would imagine that you'd have a slight rubbing issue with the control arms, but you'd be o. k. with everything else.
Bear in mind with 6" backspace the wheels won't extend into the wheelwell any more than stock, because stock backspace is 6". The addditional width goes toward the outside.
If you're running 37s consider going with 20" wheels from Centerline since they have a little less backspace.
I would order up the 17x8. 5 with the 6" backspacing and then get a set of custom spacers in a 3/4 to 1" size so the final Back space would be 5 to 5. 25". This should keep the tires off of the control arms at full lock, and also prevent rubbing elsewhere as well. www.wheeladapters.com sells any kind of custom wheel adapter or spacer that you may need. I have used them quite a few times on both cars and trucks.
