I don't use them, but seems it would be benefitial to do the normal tire balancing first. Some are very out of balance and getting them closer to a balance point would probably save some wear.

you should balance the assembly first then install them. You will have a death wobble for a bit til they balance. Get them as close as you can get first. let them take in the fine tune

I've had mine for a couple of years now and I always have the new tires balanced when they are mounted. I have two sets of tires and wheels so that I can have " like new" tires for winter and use the other set for summer. I do not rebalance at any time and so far the Centramatics are doing their job. My old set of Good Year GSAs which are a poor tire have worn quite well with no cupping or balance issues. I just put the Michelins back on and they are running real good. In my opinion balancing the new tires allows the Centramatics to do a better job especially if you have a tire or wheel that is a lot out of balance.

Balance your tires. The centermatics will do a fine tuning of the balance for you as you drive and the tires wear. Thats what you want, fine tuning the balance all the time while your driving. ;)

I think the directions say to take the wheel weights off when you install them. I had a vibration when I first got the truck (rear tire out of balance). I threw on the Centermatics, left the old wheel weights on and vibration went away. When I ever get around to putting on my Kelly Snow tires I will get them balanced just so the centermatics only have to fine tune the balance, besides it only cost like $5. 00 a piece.

I'm running 33" (305/70's)tires with 16" wheels and both Centermatics rep and the tire dealer that mounted the tires said to remove the weights. I was told that tire changes as it flexes, wears, mud/snow collects so adding the weights would be useless. I have almost 20,000 and have not had one problem yet. Even though I own a SD, I used to have a slight vibration in the steering wheel before the CM and I used to have the alignment checked once a year before cross country trips. Now the vibration is gone, the truck tracks straight, minimal tire wear on the edges, and the tires are warm and not hot like they were in the summer time out here in Vegas.

Call the rep, they will tell you the same thing. The one thing I would suggest is get a wire brush and before you mount, clean the hubs as best as possible and spin the wheel before driving just to make sure they do not rub the calipers.

Well worth the money

Looked at centramatics website but didnt find where to buy them. I know my vendors dont carry them but just curious if someone could PM me a place to buy them. Im sure they sell them from the company but curious if I can find a local dealer.
