They are both high quality lifts. If I had it to do over I would probably go with the DC lift. I plan on using my existing SJ and adding parts of the DC 6" and SJ 7" to it to achieve what I want.
I have been checking out this suspension since 97 when they came out.
I was planning on buying the extended arms and bracketry only. Keep the SAME or just a bit higher ride heigth, and going with custom resivoir shocks that I found. I offroad heavily with the camper (Lance 810) and don't want to skyjack the truck due to sway. I feel stock heigth or just a bit more with better suspension and longer arms would help out in ANY situation.
Maybe I am chasing a pipe dream here, but I LIKE the geometry of the extended arms. It can't help but better the travel of the front axle. And no, I am not talking up and down travel, I realize you only have so much room before the bumpstops. I'm talking about the arc that the axle follows.
If it is stable and improves things, then I would take it up in steps while checking stability with the camper. The shocks would be able to take the extra travel, and a simple limiting strap lengthen and spring would get it going up. Yeah I know, when it starts to go up, the steering bracketry would be needed. But what I have heard about the system is all good. It may be in my future.
The longer arms without any lift won't work. The arms won't clear the cab mounts. They just clear with the lift, under compression, with the extended bump stops. Pic shows what I'm talking about. The upper arm is mounted to frame in same location as the cab mount. Check and measure first before buying the longer arms.
Most likely. I'm running the SJ 4. 5" lift and it actually gave me 6" so my 35's look too small for me so I'm in the process of adding 3" more lift and going up to 38's.
Thanks for the info. I ended up going with a Sky Jacker 4. 5" lift the Cepek is a cool lift but by the time I made it work right on my truck I would be into it for $2000. 00!
