Did a fuel filter change at about 10,000 miles. How can I be at 17% remaining fuel filter life after 141 gallons and 2,242 miles? I thought all the service interval counter did was count miles and gallons. Does it ACTUALLY monitor the status of the filter? Does that mean I ACTUALLY got a bad load of fuel? Seems unlikely...

Sorry for upside down.

If you've had any updates or flashes performed, the fuel filter life percentages always get screwed up.

If the oil was changed at the same time, just base your next fuel filter change interval on the oil change interval, provided you do them simultaneously.

Hah! Just the man I was looking for. Yup. The truck just went in for all four of the recent recalls and they updated all kinds of stuff. What a waste. Yet another feature that shouldn't have been released into the wild in its current state. I'll just go back to changing fuel filters every 10,000 miles like on my 3rd Gen.

Thanks Greg

You've only got 2200 miles on the filters now. Just reset the gauge and you'll be fine. It's not that big of a deal. 10K is premature. I usually see almost 14K before its time to change the filters. Even at that, the old filters still look new.

:eek:Am I the only one who is seeing the photo UPSIDE DOWN ?
At first thought this was a post on dash display showing a inverted view .
Got to love it .

I thought the filter change interval was roughly 15K miles? I just changed mine last weekend at a little over 13K miles and the paper element in the engine filter looked pretty good. Only reason I did it at 13K was because I knew 15K would hit in the middle of winter...

You guys are correct. A reset would probably let me change 15,000 or more miles from now. I did reset the "monitor" and it of course went to 0 miles and 100% with no problem. I have typically changed fuel filters (on my prior truck) at 10,000 mile intervals - every other oil change. Now oil AND filter changes have much longer intervals, and they're more expensive.

ßince I won't put as many miles on my new truck I will follow one guideline and change oil every 8K miles or yearly. fuel filters will be around 15K, depending on who I can find to change them.
