I have for sometime been intrigued with Diesel Motorhomes. I think I have found a "nitch market" that appears to be fun and profitable.
Mid 90s diesel motorhomes with the 230 Cummins and Allison 6 speeds. I have bought 3 in the last 2 weeks and I am impressed with how much "bang for the buck" is available.
Last year in Colorado at our favorite RV park, I talked to so many people that would gladly trade their new GAS motorhome on a 5 year old diesel if they could just get out.
I am very impressed with the ride, drive, power and economy of these units. I drove one home the other day with a 230/6speed and sat there in the captain's chair with the cruise on 65 and turning 2,000 rpms. What fun!
Another one came in today with a 300/6speed and the driver said it was turning 1,700 at 60. It is an 8. 3 big block.
Being a died in the wool Manual trans. guy I have to admit, these Allisons are growing on me fast... ... ... ... ...
