Change location of lift pump in my 04?

My 04 stalled in traffic... P0628 code showed... lift pump problem.

I'm taking it in am. to dealer. I just read in another thread that the dealer may offer to upgrade the location of the pump to the fuel tank like the 05s. Good idea or not?





2004 QC HO tag, cool tube, otherwise stock.

The intake pump is the pump you'll get and if you're still under 100,000mi. it's a warranty repair.

My "lift" pump lasted 90,000 miles, my "pusher" pump has lasted 170,000 miles and still going ... ... ... . I guess you'll have to do some research.

I would say 'or not. ' They will put the in tank pump in and then if/when it fails you are really shafted. Check out www.glacierdieselpower.com, it's all you'll need, and best of all... . reliable.
