As title says, I replaced water pump after noticing coolant on garage floor, dripping from weep hole. Now cold air blows when heat is on. Not sure when this started or if it happened just now. What's the cause and fix for this? Thanks
Probably just needs the air bled out. Leave radiator cap off turn heat on hot and high fan speed and run at a fast idle until the thermostat opens. May take a few cycles of the stat opening and closing and likely will have to top off each time.
X2 on an air pocket at the heater hose…IIRC, Dodge uses somethig like a jiggle valve to help bleed the system while refilling, but simply running the truck with the heater on full for awhile should do it.
How much coolant did you put back in? I hope it was gallons and not quarts. It's not full until you've worked it and the upper hose is real hot. Don't cook your engine!
Thanks for the quick replies. You all are correct, just had to be patient and wait for it to warm up and let thermostat cycle.....everything's a ok now. 200k on the stock water pump is pretty decent.
