Not the time to have a no-start problem. No start on weekend means no-parts!! I had been having my ongoing hesitation problem... decided to change the fuel filter before I went any further. Drained it out, cleaned the bowl and installed the new filter. I've bumped the starter and heard the lift pump run numerous times. I even opened it up again to make sure it was getting fuel in the bowl. I've got fuel... but now no start?? What gives??

check for codes. You may have some air in the lines. Put the pedal to the floor and keep cranking (20 sec intervals)

codes would help

Similiar results/symptoms have indicated a dead or dying lift pump. Mine was dying, Bobs (2001. 5) was dead.

Just went back out there after losing my patience with it. I took the filter out, checked everything twice and it all looked good. I let the lift pump cycle with the filter out to check to make sure it was coming in, and the fuel looked to be coming in at a good rate. I was under the impression that the fuel system had an auto-air bleed. If not, I very well may have air in the lines. What now?? I'll try the pedal to the floor technique... but I guess I dont understand how that would work as its electronicaly operated. I'm open to all suggestions!! Thanks guys. !! I'll have to take my general lee to work till I get this straightened out... so this is not good!!!
