Lamp Out ? On Dash

Which Year to Buy

I just changed the fuel filter on my 05 at just under 15,000 mi. Took all of 5 minutes. I hooked up the trailer and on the first launch my truck had more power. Lesson learned. I think I'm gonna start changing the FF every 10,000 or maybe less. Anyone else have this experience?

Changed mine for the 2nd time last weekend at around 19K miles. Was really black and rather nasty looking. I can't say I noticed a real difference.

Well, I did not notice any real difference driving unloaded since I have a pretty light foot, but the difference was noticable pulling my 7000# trailer out of the hole, and up steep grades. It sure feels like there is more fuel getting to the engine. Maybe my filter was unusually clogged.

Could be. It only takes one bad fill-up to plug things up. Or if you had a tank get really cold over the winter and the waxes settled out of the fuel (and they don't get re-absorbed back into the fuel), that could have plugged the filter.

Cool "work rig". Thanks for reminding me what a little bug smasher I fly (One P&WC PT6A-67B, 1,200 SHP, 9,200lbs gross, 2,700lbs fuel, top speed mach . 42, and mine has STACKS!)
