Since I saved $100 bucks a year on my 2001. 5 when State Farm changed the policy to a comercial one I thought I would give the 96 a go and see how it would do. Boy was I supprised. I lost my two car discount with my 96 3500 and the RX-7 but I saved alittle over $300 bucks a year on the two trucks. Needless to say but, HAPPY DAY.

I still changed agents though.

Did you change State Farm agents. I wanted to do the same thing, but the agents around here (I contacted 2 others that seemed very unwilling to cooperate with me, they didn't want to steal anyone's businesss. I don't understand that it's my choice. Anyway) were making it so difficult for me to do I just changed inscurance companies. Their loss.

Helipilot, Do you still have a personal auto policy? Make sure you do! A commercial auto policy does not cover you as adequately as a personal auto policy when driving other peoples vehicles and when renting autos. Be careful. Even though you saved money your coverage is not as broad as with a personal auto policy.

jeepit is right. When it comes to insurance, the more you pay the more you get. Here in Texas the rates are set by the state. All of them are so close it is unreal. I've learned that it is the agent that is the one that is going to bat for you when you have a problem.

My insurance agent told me that New Jersey and California have the highest insurance rates in the U. S. I said I could believe California but why New Jersey? He said these two states have the most Lawyers per/capita. . . Go figure!

Don't know about other parts of the country, but can tell you that in NJ if you register as Commercial, even if you saved some $$ on the insurance you'd pay it back on yearly state Registration fees; 77. 00 for my 3500 reg as passenger vehicle, 300. 00 plus to register for commercial... ...
