Changing Door latch... Any advice?

I have finally got my new latch - Issue - Door Ajar Message latch appears to not close completely. Tried WD40, aligning the catch etc. No Joy. Remember when a latch just closed and locked the door???

Any advice on how to change this out? Any gotchas? Thanks Guys!

I can't speak to your latch but on my '05 Caravan the latch [door ajar] switch needed adjusting since the door was properly closed. It was a warranty thing so I don't know how the mechanic adjusted the switch.
