I got the lovely job of having to change the filter on my FASS today! I spent 2 hours trying to get the pump to pick up prime again :-{} This could be a real pain in the middle of nowhere running out of fuel and the trying to get it to pick up again. What are you guys doing to get the pump to pick up prime with out spending 2 hours doing it?

I found out today that the NAPA 1724 is a 10 micron and cost $29. 00. The NAPA 1202 is a 5 micron and cost $16. 50 if anyone needed to know that.

no prime problem

Have changed the filter 3 times and have hit the ignition twice each time to prime and has started right off each time. Did you seal the ring with oil before you threaded it back on. This is ten times easier than the factory filter to change. I did one in the parking lot of a Walmart at 11pm with no problem.

With the main filter loose Bump the starter and run back and listen carefully. you will hear the water seperator fill and juust before you hear the pump load up snap that filter tight. Done in under 6 secconds.

DW whey did you change you filters so often?

I have 10,000 on my FASS and was not going to change the filter for another 10,000

Tool Man good-looking truck.

I had close to 30,000 on my filter. I tried to get prime by unscrewing the filter but that was a no go also! The trick that seemed to work for me was I had to take the fuel line off the VP-44. I took the line lower than the tank then taking a hand pump to get it to slightly gravity feed into a bucket. I bumped the starter, wham-mo, good flow!
