alrighty guru's of the 12valve, i do have a simple question, i looked the fuel filter setup over on the 92, seems simple enough but is that lever looking thing thats sort of at the lower right hand corner (imagine a square box around the fuel filter) is that the lever to drain the fuel out of the filter...

I think i can figure out how to get the other parts back in the new filter, so thats no problem...

Thanks in advance

Thanks scott, Yeah thats the only thing i could figure that lever was for on there, but thought it can't hurt to ask first before i pushed it up or down whichever way it goes.

your right tx fireman, that is the primer lever. . well i tried to get the fuel filter off, i think king kong put it on, i cant budge it at all, any ideas or tricks, would like to change it today before work.

First, unplug the wire out the bottom for the WIF sensor. The filter then unscrews but they're usually really tight. I have a large pai of channel locks I use but a properly sized oil filter wrench would work also. once you get it out the plug fromt he bottom unscrews ans will get swapped into the new filter with the new O-rings that should have come with your new filter. Then reinstall. It helps to fill the filter with fuel before putting it on but it isn't necessary if you don't mind pumping the primer lever.

Thanks scott, i tried a oil filter wrench, i can get it around it but don't have enough room to turn it, i will try the channel locks and see what happens there... thanks alot. . yeah i will fill it with power service, that should work right?

well i manuvered the oil filter around enough to where i got it lose and its off, changed the orings out, and getting ready to put it back on. . thanks for you help scott

decided to prime it with the lever, thats slick, damn wished that was on the 24V... . fired right up, purged the system and run like a top. im sure if needed it, im going to keep an eye on that filter as i don't want to over tighten it... thanks for you help there scott

You're welcome and glad it worked out for you. You never know what you're going to run into on a job like that. I've had to replace a couple lift pums after the system woudn't reprime following a filter change. Job well done and a Merry Christmas to you.

PS, I knew Power Service was an additive what I meant was that I have no personal experience with the stuff and I'm not sure about filling a filter with it in that I don't know if it needs to be diluted with diesel or not. :)

after i got to thinking about it, thats what i thought to, i know guys put sea foam straight in the canister but wasn't sure about the Ps and diesel dilution myself. After getting this 12V, i sure wished dodge and cummins could have stayed with this industrial engine setup, more practical and alot easier to work on, but thats my opinion of course, don't get me wrong i love the 24V also i have.

Also you and your family have a wonderful christmas also and a safe new yrs.
