Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) changing oil after head gasket failure

since my hg went south last year, i haven't changed the oil, question is since it failed would there be coolant in the oil, and is harm being done. should i change it?

In my manual one of the steps is to replace the oil and filter, as well as the fuel filter.

if it was leaking you should definately have changed the oil. coolant will pit bearings when sitting on them. have you checked it and seen any gray or water in it? fuel is also bad to be in the crank case. oil should be changed with any type of failure.
