Issues with dimming lights at startup

Just got my 99 Ram 2500 Sport, first diesel I have owned, (great truck) it now has LT265\75R16 I looked at BFG LT285\75R16E tires for it, does anyone know how this size tire will affect its handling ect... also can the speedometer be corrected with this size tire.

285's will be fine for you, the truck should not handle much differently than it currently does. I have 315's on my truck and it is stock height... yes the speedo can be re callibrated, you can do it at the dealer, or maybe find someone with a superchips tuner in your area (don't know if the superchips will work or not, but may be worth a try)

Thanks for the info. I saw another Ram with these tires and it looked really good. I know the Cummins can handle it, the extra clearance will be good also. :D

I am considering changing to Rickson 19. 5 wheels to better carry a camper on my 05 Ram 3500 SRW, SB, Diesel, Automatic. The OEM tires are Michelin LT 265/70 R17 rated at 3195#.

Do you see any problem going to a 245/70R19. 5 G or 265/70 R19. 5 G?

I have run 285 BFG's w/American Racing 16x8 rims for 10,000 miles now. Good tires but I keep tossing weights. The sales staff says "well, we'll balance 'um again(4th time now". The balancers say it's because of the rim savers which are extreme on these which somehow don't allow the weights to seat properly. They said they see guys in there all the time. My neighbor with a Ford and Weld's gave up and went with stick-ons. Anybody else have this problem?

I like to put the weights on the reverse side of the rims if possible, don't know if you tried this or not.
