Yes Turbo, the midwest Super Stock tractors have lots of high tec stuff the truck guys could benifit from.
I had a DT 436 IH engine in a 1086 International with a 3 charger Hypermax setup on it. It was capable of 275 psi manifold!!! Although I never saw more than 225psi. Esiimated HP was in the 1500 to 1700 HP range. The heat built up by the turbochargers is tremendous to say the least. I had a 1800 psi pressure washer pump belted to the crankshaft, a diaphram connected to a valve that would open the valve with manifold pressure. Injecting water between each stage of charging and into 6 port injectors. On a 10 to 15 second run that engine would burn about 2 gallons of #2 diesel and nearly 1 gallon of water. The 5. 9 guys are just begining to scratch the surface in water injection, fuel delivery and HP possible with the little Cummins.
