I bought a 08 a couple of months ago with 31k miles, 3 years old, the OEM batteries start the truck but it cetainly turns over slower than my 06' did with OEM batteries

I'm wondering if they got really pulled down before I bought the truck so I thought I might give them a good charge and see what happens before replacing them

is there any issue with a 6. 7 charging the batteries with them in the truck and the battery cables attached?

never had a problem doing this with my 01' but the 6. 7 has alot more electrical components

thanks for your help, I did a search but couldn't find a answer

charging the batteries will do nothing for you. as long as the charger is a small one there is not a problem. if your volt meter shows 14 or a little over the charging circuit is ok have someone hold a voltmeter on the battery and see what it shows when starting. you should see about 13 volts before and no less than 12 during. i do not think you have a problem, to early for battery failure

that's what I thought about too early for battery failure! the motor just turns over slowly the first 4 or 5 times it turns over, then speeds up and starts fine, it's been the same every day since I bought it

I do appreciate your response

Sorry, that's not true. I had a bad battery on my '08 over a year ago. Other '08 owners have reported bad batteries. Apparently a bad batch of batteries.

Man I would love to get 3 plus years out of a battery. I am lucky to get 2 years. OEM or aftermarket the heat in AZ kills them.

checked my batteries, one was bad, gave the good one to my son-in-law, replaced with walmart everstarts, $200. 46 after core return

Mine lasted 75K then died last fall. Replaced with new Mopar ones, they were cheaper than the ones at AutoZone (I know... really!?). SO far, so good.
