Chasing Vibration - Transfer case output play?

I am currently working on the 65 mph vibration on my truck, and I am starting to rack up the list of parts that need replacement. So far I know the ball joints have play so I am planning on going into the front end (trying to determine if the bearings and u-joints need R&R while I'm at it). The dealer has already refused to help based on "higher rate springs", aftermarket shocks, and larger tires than stock (35" tires increase the moment arm 1" over that of 33" tires of the Power Wagon). This is Jim Click Dodge in Tucson. I am not impressed with the service manager, as I took the truck in for a vibration and told them myself the ball joints needed attention, and they did no diagnosis on my truck whatsoever. But I digress . . .

I also discovered I can move the rear output of the transfer case by hand and produce a clunking sound. Off the top of my head I would think you should not be able to do this. I know there must be a thread mentioning this (that is where I got the idea to check) but I cannot find it with the search tool anymore. Does anyone know what kind of movement, if any, is supposed to be present?
