Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
It appears that the chat server is down again. I don't know when it happened, but when I got home today around 4:45 PM (PDT) and tried it, nothing. Still nothing, two hours later.
It was also down for most of the day two days ago if I remember right.
I really do wish we could just use our own IRC server and make it password-protected. There are Java/Web-based IRC chat clients that could be posted here on the forum for those who aren't IRC experts, and it'd allow the rest of us to use our favorite IRC client (mIRC, ircii on UNIX, etc).
Since this is a members-only system, and with a password-protected server that doesn't connect to the rest of the outside world, I don't see any security problems or problems with files, etc.
