Could anyone recommend an excellent Chattanooga, TN repair shop? I've found two shops on the internet, Diesel Plus in Ringgold, GA and Cummins South in Chattanooga but don't know the quality of their work. Any others?

My clutch needs replaced and I don't have time to do it. One of the hardest things for me to do is let someone else work on my truck! Always feel better when I have good recommendations.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dave,

What kind of clutch you going with? I would suggest calling Peter at South Bend Clutch. He can tell you which clutch you need and tell you who in your area can handle the install. I've run 2 of their clutches (outgrew the first one!) and you won't beat Peter for great service.

Just my $. 02.

Scott,
Thanks. Yes, probably South Bend. Something to handle about 500 HP/1000 lbft of torque. I was on borrowed time with the old one and tried to push it a little too far. Now in a schedule crunch with very limited time.

SFPadgett,

Thanks. Jeff is a good guy and very talented but a little too far away. I decided to go with Diesel Plus in Ringgold. I took Scott's advice and called South Bend for suggestions. I'm going to use one of their clutches. It's just tough for me to turn over my truck to someone else! Oh well, hope it goes well.

Just a quick note to tell everyone that I had an excellent experience with Diesel Plus in Ringgold, GA. They did an excellent job on my clutch repair, very conscientious and thorough. I used a Southbend 13" single disc with their new hydraulic system. I am very satisfied with both Diesel Plus and Southbend.

As a side note, I had to pick my truck up a few minutes after they closed. Not only did they wait for me, they showed me my old parts and the failed pilot bearing. We talked for about 45 minutes, now long after they closed, and their phone rang. The call was from a group of folks from another state traveling with horses that had a truck problem. Not only did they wait for them to arrive but fixed the problem on the spot. It was a Ford 6. 0 with a split high pressure coupling in the intake tract. The two Dodges pulling the other horse trailers were fine! Very nice gesture by Diesel Plus to say the least. I'm glad I gave them a try, I'll definitely use them in the future.
