Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) check engine code

Truck died will idling #@$%! then I got smoke out the drivers side defrost vent by the windshield. Would not restart. Put out these codes P0253 and P1688. Then after cracking #1 injector line the truck fired up and runs like normal.

P0253 (M) Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Open Circuit Problem sensed with fuel circuit internal to fuel injection pump.



P1688 (M) Internal Fuel Injection Pump Controller Failure Internal problem within the fuel injection pump. Low power, engine de-rated, or engine stops.







Another VP44 bites the dust#@$%!

It back fired out the intake , then got pulled into the not so fresh air vent below the windsheild .
