2013 Fuel filter change interval question?

Not impressed! Seems that every two weeks the truck is going in for an engine light on issue. This time it is the DEF module. They say I can drive it but if it goes into a regen mode, I'll be parked shortly after. Catch is that the part is on back order and they don't know when the part will be available. This is pathetic!! Ram is going to lose the next truck sale to me if this thing keeps going in every other week.
Looks like I had better get the 07.5 fixed up as I may have to keep it. It has been more reliable than this thing to date! The new truck is supposed to make it so that I can go on longer distance holidays without worrying about issues like I've had with the old truck.

Do you know what code the truck is throwing? There is a TSB out just in the last few weeks and a new test procedure. I feel your pain as I had a similar issue with my 2013. I have a thread on here about code P20EE I think was the code number. The Dealer had to do the test and Ram told them to change the SCR CAT. Seems there is a change to the design as it was very different from the one the truck came with. Also there is a new Flash out to deal with the throwing of false codes. Don't give up hope if your dealer is half as good as the one here in PortJeff, Ny they'll get it right.

Mpaulson is in canada...........maybe the mechanics just asked the truck politely to fix itself?! Just kidding, how did it turn out Paulson???

They got the DEF module in on Tuesday and for the moment that issue is solved. BUT,,,, on Friday morning the check engine light came on again when I remote started it in the morning. So I stopped in and they said it was the ambient temp sensor. I had this same code back in January and they replaced the sensor, now again!!!! I may have to keep my 07.5, the new one seems to be in the shop more than the old one!!! Although at least it doesn't cost me anything other than the pain in the butt and wondering if I can trust this thing to drive into the NWT and the Yukon or the Grand Canyon this summer. I was saving some of my long distance holidays till I had the new truck. It doesn't help that on Wednesday I had to take my wife's Journey in to the dealer for the engine light and the service AWD light, which all turned out to be tripped by low voltage which is odd because it started fine but with a very firm brake peddle.
So three separate visits to the dealer this week, not impressive. I told the service guy that I may have to go buy a 94 to 98.5 truck and dump the $70g into it that I spent on the new truck and I'd have one hell of a truck for that investment and a reliable one. I'll have to take it in next week to deal with the ambient temp sensor again.
Awesome truck otherwise. Feels like I'm driving my desktop computer around that needs updates everyday.

Hmmmm... two sensors bad I'm betting not . Too many times they'll go after the sensor at the end of the wire and not look at the wire or the plug connections. I hope that they find it and fix it for you. I wish that they used a Apple op system rather than the Microsoft system.... Although My partner in crime has an I thing that she can't leave home with out a charger or it drops dead 1/4 of the way through the day. If Ram had used an Apple system we'd have to drive around with a Gen in the bed to re charge it all the time.....Lol

Dealer just called and they said there was a update that did encompass this area of the software. So they did the update and cleared the code and it is a wait and see game as usual. I went on line and ordered an OTC 3108N code reader for $46 bucks so that I can see what the codes are myself when they happen, especially if I'm not anywhere near a dealer when one happens so I can evaluate the seriousness of it rather than drive along wondering what it is. This is the same unit the service adviser had that they used to do a quick check on Friday to see what code it was.
So we'll see how long I can go this time around before the idiot light comes on again.
