check engine light but no codes?

My 06 has 1885 miles on it the check engine light done been on trice and a trip to the dealer for the reflash for white smoke. But tonight i was cruising about 60 when it chimed the light came on when i got home i tried to pull the code out of it and it just showed dashes all the way across the odometer and then flashed done but no code ever came up. Any advice will be helpful thanks!

My '06 had the CEL come on once shortly after purchase. I was near a dealer so pulled into the service bay. They put a scanner on it and couldn't come up with a code. They reset the light and I haven't had it happen since.
