I will try to make this as short as possible. I had installed the Edge Comp box a few months ago and soo far the truck has been running great. I have been out of town for the past month, and I got home and went to start up my truck. My batteries were totally dead. So I try to jump start it. My honda didn't have enough power, so I get my GF car and hook it up to the other battery, and get it started. I pull it into the garage, hook it up to a charger and begin to do some work on it. I decided to move the comp box to a new location and I needed to lengthen the wiring harness, so I cut the wires and spliced in longer sections. I hook it all up, start the truck, and I have the check engine light on. I also notice my oil pressure dropped from 60 to 0 after about a minute of running. I try to drive the truck to the dealership, as I am figuring the sender is bad on my oil pressure guage, and the truck has no power at all. I call the guys at Edge to see if cutting the wires would cause any trouble, and they said that they doubted it. I also tried turning off the box, and I had the same trouble. So it looks like I have to tow the damn thing to a dealership, so I wanted to see if anyone might have any ideas of why the truck would be in limp mode? Could I have done something or is it just coincidence? Thanks in advance.

limp mode

FFSchooley, You didn't go on to explain the dead batteries. Are they really shot and not holding a charge or what. With all the electronics involved here I would certainly find out why the batteries died first.

Most problems usually involve the last thing you had to deal with. If the ECM doesn't see everything it likes... I'm sure it would put you in the limp mode.

The batteries were dead after the truck had been sitting for a month. Not sure why. They are optima yellow tops that are fairly new. I went out and disconnected the box completely, and still had the same problem. I even disconnected the batteries to reset the ECM, and no luck. Is there any reason that starting the truck with the wires to the box cut would cause a problem?
