I have a stock 2005 Ram 2500 4X4 quad cab auto trans I keep getting check engine light showing code of P1751. My truck is do for and inspection and will not pass showing a check engine light. Where should I start looking? I am not sure if the TTVA needs to be replaced or could it be something else any help would be appreciated!

That is the code for TTVA performance. You can try checking the harness and connector to make sure they are good and the connector clean. Otherwise a replacement may be the only choice.

the P1751 are Transmission Throttle Valve Position
minimum Range Performance.

the possible cause is
1. TRANSMISSION THROTTLE VALVE ACTUATOR BINDING
2. TRANSMISSION THROTTLE VALVE COMPONENTS
3. TRANSMISSION THROTTLE VALVE ACTUATOR

the problems is you need Scan tool that Chrysler use
DRB-3 to do all test. i would recommend you to check
for wires for damage or binding. but if it need more
work to do that it will need work on transmission as
nothing with Cummins engine. Only Transmission.

Finally got around to changing out the TTVA. Replaced with new unit I found online for $250.00 fixed the check engine light. I removed the top plastic cover on the bad TTVA and found several plastic teeth broken off.
