Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) check engine light

My check engine light came on yesterday on my 98. 5 24 valve.

It has fuel pressure-16 lbs. on a 16 lb. gage,oil pressure,voltage seems fine. .



To read codes on a 98. 5 can I use the "key" or do I need a reader?

I believe you'll need a code scanner on the 98. 5.
