Alright, first of all my truck is an 03 that has the infamous gauge cluster erronious indicator light problem. This I have lived with for the year I've had the truck, the false check gauges light that flashes for 1/2 a second while riving, that kind of stuff.

Now, starting about 2 weeks ago I pulled into a gas station and put the truck in reverese (5 speed stick) and got a BING from the dash and had the check engine and check gauges light on. Gauges were all fine. I continued to back up and shut off and fuel up. For the fun of it I checked fluid levels and all that and all was well. Got back in and the check gauges light was gone but check engine was still on. Checked the codes and got my normal two, the battery temp sensor and the swithc on the brake pedal, same two I've had for 6 months. Check engine light went off about 10 minutes later while on the highway and never returned in the other 150 miles of the trip.

Today, drove to Jack in the Crack and got home, pulled up out front, put it in reverse and BING, same thing, check engine and check gauges. Gauges were normal once again. Shut the truck off and haven't driven it again yet but will in 30 minutes or so.

I was told the erronious indicator lamp thing won't do the BING when the check gauges comes on which it never has in the past and which is why this worries me a bit... It BINGS and stays on till I shut the truck off.

I'm skeered! :D
