Last summer during a road trip the Check Gauges lamp on my '03 Ram would come on. It would stay on for a few seconds and then go off. A look at the gauges showed all had normal readings. This would happen 2 or 3 times a day. This lasted for a couple of weeks and then stopped. I forgot about it.

Today, 4 months since the last time, this started happening again. Eight times in 3. 8 miles! What's going on?

Note: Today it happened as I was driving home from having a new South Bend clutch (model 1947-O) installed. I doubt if the clutch installation has anything to do with it.

Mine has been doing this since new, there is a flash ($100). I opted not to because I didn't want the flash for the backup alarm.

Mine does it occasionally too, but I never bothered with it because I don't know what else is buried in the reflash. Same with the BU alarm, the local dealer doesn't even ask me about it anymore when I take the truck in for inspection.

Glenn, The B/U annoyance feature comes to play if you have the door open, your seat belt off and you put it in reverse. Then the horn blows continuously. Some have just hard wired the two wires going to the seatbelt that are under the seat together. It doesn't happen with the manuals (at least I don't think it does), just the fancy auto guys. :D
