I've published a new video which uses an idea I've been wanting to try. It works great. Check it out. It's easy to build and install and I've provided links if you decide to build this tool. Let me know what you think.

I'm not trying to start another thru the wheel well or remove the intake discussion. So this primarily addresses those who go thru the side. Thanks.

That new part does address the filter tipping over, great idea! Curious why you cut the vid when raising the filter to screw it on? That part IMHO would be the hardest.

I didn't find tipping over an issue although it is a great idea. Have heard where some have a difficult time removing the cap once it is in there, that will eliminate that issue.

I like a bunched up old towel down in there, for the purpose of just raising it up a little bit, and it seems to steady it as good as I need.

Nice idea, Just might have to make one of those. Last time I changed mine I removed the tire to give me a bit more operating room. You would think they could have come up with a better design other than having to tip it to get it out of there.

Yeah, noticed that myself. I've seen more that a few Youtuber's demonstrating how to change the oil and they almost always edit that part out. You see the filter go in the hole and next scene shows an arm coming out with the words, "done !".

It seems a lot of videos are click bait. Wonder how much this guy makes off Youtube ?

Great new tool, will build one, I found that the genos cap only needs to be tightened 1/8 turn, after you make contact with the seal, no leaks, and no fight to install or remove, just my 2 cents
Thanks again

The point being, these Youtuber's make these things look so easy and simple. In the real unedited world trying to lift a new filter filled with oil out of a hole just barely big enough to get one hand in, lift the filter, find the oil filter housing one cannot see and then thread the new filter onto the housing using just your fingers is something that seems to be conveniently glossed over.

UH did you not see i complimented him??? IMHO if you are going to spend the time to detail something ALL the steps should be shown. What is wrong with asking why he did not?

Maybe I mis read your intent.

I am not being critical but lifting a filter with a FULL quart of oil in it and screwing it on with one hand is the part that no one has shown, maybe it's EASY but no one has shown it is. People need to mention that removing the filter right after popping the drain plug will result in oil coming out of the filter when unscrewing it since it has not had time to drain back.

I appreciate people coming up with tools and ideas to make things easier with still doing a quality job.

You did:) my wrenching skills are better than my attempts at humor:-laf I get what you are saying. But it is really as easy as it looks in his video. I'm no spring chicken, bad knees, and arthritic hands from all the busted fingers I got playing ball when I was young and dumb. I had no trouble spinning the new filter on, I only put about 3/4 of a quart in it. When I first saw the other youtube videos using the geno cap, I was a bit skeptical as you guys are, thinking it looks too easy. Almost, to a point that when I finished, I wondered if I had made a mistake somewhere because it went so quick and easy.....
