some new car pics

ski doo 583 ...need help

A buddy of mine just bought a new half ton Chevy 4dr short box 2wd with every bells and whisles they have. The side mirrows even fold in when he gets out. They would only give him $3000 off sticker because its the new body style they said. He paid $34,000 plus TTL. This is a half ton gas truck. I can only imagine what they want for the real trucks.

Wow, That Big Chrome bumper need to be toned down a bit. I guess anyone who get's in the way will see their reaction in the reflection before getting wacked.

The 1500 short box are made down the road from my shop.

They are having all sorts of problems with them. The biggest problem I can see is they are FUGLY

And another BUTT UGLY truck brought to courtesy of Chevy... I'm sure glad they are not the folks with the CTD! The GMC looks a little better.

I was looking at the new pics of this truck in Truck Trend also. That giant chrome thing on the front bumper is fugly. What were they thinking?

Unless they have fixed the quality control issues, stuff will start falling off your new truck before the paperwork is done.

The first thing I noticed is that G. M. has always had very poor taste in their wheel choice for P. U. s no style what so ever

Now I will say FORD has the best looking rims on there trucks, why cant Dodge come with stock Alcoas or ? like Ford... Well at least our stock rims look better than Chevy

Yeah, no kidding, that's real original. Let's bring a truck to a truck show and keep the steel wheels and plastic hubcaps that we're run for decades. Ugh.

Stoooopid.

The new plastic simulators are way better than Aluminum rims. With them you have 3 different wheels on a dually, & can't rotate tires. The old stainless simulators would dent if they hit something, even in deep snow. The crome plated plastic shine better, you can rotate tires, & if you mess one up, it's easily replaced. Just my $0. 02.

Just bought two front chrome plastic dually rings for $52. 00 a pop from dealer. The plastic hold down clips let go on the originals.

The front end is so huge it makes the wheel look like a roller skate.

I had the opportunity to attend some GM training last week and found some interesting technical points on the 06+ 6600
  • It uses 3 thermostats in the cooling system, primary, secondary and Turbo.
  • Injectors are new and now flow tested at the factory before installation and given a coded number that is programed into the ECM and GPCM, this means if you change an injector the new number for it must be programmed into the engine computer and glow plug module.
  • Glow plug design was changed so you can't mistakenly install an LB7 plug in an LLY motor.
  • New block and head gaskets
  • Spring loaded cam gear
  • Larger radiator & engine mounted shroud
  • Intake air heater was brought back
  • Fuel system is now 26,000 psi.
  • FICM- Fuel Injector Control Module that was fuel cooled has been deleted

Interesting design that should allow for good service opportunities down the road, overall I welcome it into my trade but not my garage. :D

The chrome bumper is bad, but not nearly as bad as the off brand gray plastic insert right smack dab in the middle of the fancy pants chrome bumper.

get rid of all the chrome in the front end, lower it 2" all round and toss the stock steel wheels for something nicer [or at least paint them black] and it'll be nice looking. .

i'll see one in person next month at the toronto auto show. . [and i am going on GM's buck too... i keep getting the truck owners network invites :D:D]
