What are they asking for it? No way the current owner can expect to regain ANY of the expense of a stretch like that in the sale.

There is a company that does those conversions. I've seen a bunch of them. If they're done right, they're just as strong as before. They are done the same way a crew cab conversion is done and the slepper doesn't way that much.

More than likely it has some frame reinforcemnt. Looking at the bed it has 5th wheel set up. This guy makes long hauls and doesn't want to spend a bundle on motels.
Yes I agree it looks out of place and would act like a brick wall going down the highway.
He's got the right truck/engine set up though.
 
I guess only a "hotshot" O/O would appreciate this mod. I for one know how this guy thinks. The sleeper is a bit on the large size..... But when I'm out on the road I like to stay out as long as I can. My 99 DORF has a 60" FL-70 sleeper on it. My 92 Cummins will have a DOT approver sleeper soon. http://www.cowtownsleeper.com Sure its overkill on the truck but a O/O is out to make $$$ and motels get high $$ when your out weeks at a time. Brian, I can't be sure but I think that truck may have been in at the dealership I work at last year with a pump out. The vehicle had almost 500,000 miles on it. As far as what I remember the owner pulled new trailers all over the country from the factories. He seemed to make good money and was on the road all the time. It may not be pretty but look how much he saved on motel bills over possibly a million miles by now. If I remember right the truck was only 2. 5 years old when it came in for the pump repair.

Buy a pickup to do it's job. Buy a Rig with a sleeper to do it's job. This is a perfect example of a square peg in a round hole.
Proper tool for the proper job. This rig is like using a wrench for a hammer.
