Neat idea. I wonder what the torque and RPM ratings are on the hydraulic motor. Looks very small.

I've always thought it would be cool to do the same thing, but on a full size truck with a hydraulic motor at each wheel.

I use to think the same thing, till I worked a Laturneau log stacker. Electric DC motors at each wheel!

I don't know for sure, but I suspect electric wheel motors (AC or DC) are more efficient than hydraulics.
