diesel durango

I pulled a semi out of the median

I found this the other day and thought it was rather entertaining.

See what you think.

My favorite comment was,"The way a diesel should be. " Watch out Clessie! GM is redefining what diesels should be.

See what you think.

HUH???

since when should diesels be quiet? pulled up next to a black 3500 today and the driver YELLS to me that he don't care what anybody says, he loves the sound...

was that duracan running or was that one that hand-grenaded itself already?? :D :D :D :D :D

They must be so desperate to sell this pop can.

What this guy must do golf ball comercials too. They should have left the Dodge and Ford running. Cause the trucks sounded better than that dork!

Last I checked it is Cummins made the diesel. Not Dodge. He would have at least sounded more professiolal if he could have said ''Dodge Cummins & Ford's Navistar Powerstroke''. I know I can screw it up too DURACRAPS SEVY.

A Diesel should sound like a Diesel. If he wants something quiet he should drive a minivan like the other ladies! :D

Nice fake tug of war, I suppose they had a few bags of sand in the Duracrap and the Ford and Dodge in 2wd with the Cheby in 4!

Give me a break!

Was is just me, or did anyone notice that the Dodge never spun a wheel and they pushed the clutch in about halfway through the pull? Also, they managed to STALL the Cummins because you hear it restart right before the fade out to the Ford pull. That tells me that the test is skewed in favor of the Chevy.

By the way that cheby was squatting in the back, I'd say they had some creativity with bags of cement, a bit of "4 low" and anyone could win...

Pulloffs and Horsepower

I always like these pulloff things where they try to say that they can win because they have all that horsepower.

I've got this rig with a diesel engine rated at a measley 120 HP I'd put up against *any* stock or bombed pickup. Heck, I'll even give 'em a big advantage, I'll pull up a steep hill, say 20% grade, while they pull down hill. Nobody gets to add any extra weight, etc. , you can use 4 low or whatever gearing you have. I still think my big green 18,000 lb tractor will pull 'em up the hill with their tires smokin' like mad:D Just don't ask me to run a quarter mile, I don't think the 18MPH top speed'll win many of those contests;)

It ain't horsepower that wins a pulling contest...

My email to the "truck experts"

I just had to "vent". . heehehehehe. .

_________copy of my email to the "truck experts":

Get your webmaster to fix one problem.

Cummins (correct spelling is without a g) is spelled "Cummings" (with a g) on your website:

"Quieter" referenced here:

http://www.thetruckexperts.com/proof.htm

"Duramax Noise vs. Powerstroke vs. Cummings"

Oh that really shows me you are truck experts.

Whether your webmaster fixes that or not, I don't

give a flip. I just had to vent!

By the way I own a 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500

with the new Vortec 8100. Great engine. I drove

a new Chevy 2500 with the Duramax; I'll keep my

Cummins (spelled without a "g").

-Chris

Not trying to bash them, I think that the d-max turn out to be a good engine yet without their annoying propaganda. But I would not buy one because I thought that the 200,000 service life was quite honestly the most non-exaggerated thing on their site, and that scares me. For 200,000 miles, I'd buy the cheaper gasser and change the oil every 2500 like my diesel. I'll just keep driving my noisey, smoking, bigger, more difficult to work on "HA! :D", mechanical, cave man like, out dated?, less powerful cummins diesels and be laughed at for spending less money on a proven product.

Having said this, I will go try to leave, and my truck will break down in front of the only available tow truck in the tri-state area that will be duramax powered, but that's my life :p

D. Anthony this does not apply to you. :D
