Check with Kenworth for Cummins parts!

Just a heads up for less expensive Cummins parts.

I'm going to replace my lift pump & called Cummins to order one. They qouted me just over $150 but didn't have one in stock. I got the part # and on a whim called Kenworth. They were $45 less. Thats close to 40% less!! The parts guy said they buy huge volume's of Cummins parts & get a big discount.

I'm at least going to check with them from now on before I buy.

Any of the big 3 can get us parts. Sometimes their lower, sometimes not. Also some of the parts guys don't want to deal with us "little" trucks. Allways worth a try though.

When I bought my lift pump last summer I got a better price from Kenworth. Cummins folks said the company supports their "dealer" network by giving them better prices than they give directly to the customer. So Kenworth and the rest can pass that savings on.



Always pays to check around. Phone calls are cheap!
